• McTaggart's Paciano

I’ve lived in some beautiful places but this beats them all” - David McTaggart

    Paciano

David McTaggart spent the last 12 years of his life in the medieval village of Paciano, nestled in the hills of Umbria near Lake Trasimeno.

Here he gave new life to an old olive farm, producing "the green gold" under his PaxJani label – not as a business venture but as a campaign for organic farming that inspired many local farmers to convert to organic production.

Paciano is a village rich in history, tracing back to Etruscan times, and is surrounded by olive groves, woodlands, and vineyards in an area of great natural beauty and biodiversity. It was also a fitting home for McTaggart’s vision of environmental activism and peace. The village has long supported initiatives for sustainability, social inclusion, and a culture of peace. It is one of only a few municipalities in Umbria to be accepted into the"Virtuous Comuni" network, and since 2015 is a member of the international association "Mayors for Peace" based in Hiroshima.

    The Third Millennium Center

The Third Millennium Center is based in the historic Palazzo Baldeschi in the medieval center of Paciano. This is where we keep the 3MF archives and the personal archives of David McTaggart and his friends Sidney Holt and Giorgio Pilleri.

We are currently working on a permanent exhibition in honor of these three great friends. The Palazzo offers a great space for deep discussion and idea incubation, and we hope soon to open our doors to students and activists so they can find inspiration in the work of these three pioneers.
