  • About Third Millennium Foundation

David McTaggart founded The Third Millennium Foundation (3MF) in 1987 to welcome the arrival of the new millennium by working for global peace, the protection of our oceans, ecological sustainability, and international cooperation. David has left us, but the new millennium is here – and the fight for our planet is more urgent than ever.

In David’s spirit, we continue to focus on conserving our oceans and marine life, protecting biodiversity, and combating climate change.

We support scientific, educational, artistic, and environmental efforts that encourage solutions to these global issues. Education is at the heart of our work – promoting peace, sustainable living, and inspiring people to take action locally and globally.

3MF is committed to bridging generations of environmental activists. By connecting the wisdom of the pioneers of environmental activism with the passion and vision of the next generation, we aim to champion a new wave of activism that empowers emerging leaders to carry the fight forward for years to come.
